Justice Involved
Veteran Programs
The Wounded Healer Project is committed to supporting veterans who have encountered the justice system. Our programs provide specialized mental health care, advocacy, and rehabilitation resources to help veterans navigate legal challenges, reintegrate into society, and build a stable, fulfilling future.
Non-Traditional
Treatment Options
Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we offer a non-traditional treatment option through our Native American Sweat Lodge. This innovative method empowers veterans to explore alternative pathways to mental wellness, addressing trauma and stress in a way that resonates with their unique experiences.
Traditional
Treatment Options
For veterans seeking evidence-based mental health care, we provide access to traditional treatment options, including individual therapy and in the future, group counseling, and psychiatric support. Our programs ensure that veterans receive the professional care they need, rooted in proven clinical practices to support long-term healing and resilience.
Non-Clinical
Programs
Mental wellness extends beyond therapy sessions. Our non-clinical programs focus on peer support, community engagement, skill-building, and wellness activities to help veterans regain confidence, find purpose, and rebuild their lives in a supportive, understanding environment.
Why should you join our cause?
The concept of “wounded healer” was coined by Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung, which describes how a healer is most effective after having been healed themself. Being wounded does not prevent them from being able to work with those in need of healing; On the contrary, the wounded healer is a companion and an equal – someone who can humbly meet another in their suffering without a sense of superiority. We believe the healer is not someone who heals you, but rather someone who helps you find the key to healing that allows you to heal yourself.
We’ve called ourselves The Wounded Healer Project because of the sense of work our mission carries. We want to set in motion lasting change and this can only occur if we continue to pay forward the healing we personally experience in this work.
